What happened this time?

Where did all the threads go? Wheelhot was so happy, Lowcel was so grateful. Where did it all go?

Does this happen a lot around here - server suddenly going down and threads mysteriously disappearing?

The threads disappearing is new. I've never seen that before other than the occasional thread being deleted by a mod.

The site going down for DB maintenence happens every once in a while. I think the admins have been steadily moving towards improving the performance of the site.

Wheelhot got his new bike and it was such a shock to Bike Forums that the entire system crashed. No need for the threads about it not arriving and upgrading and sram and timex watches and slipping sunglasses tied with string ("these are a few of my faaaaavorite things") and such. The whole world can be a calmer place now.

There is peace at Bike Forums...........

Don't get ahead of yourself Siu. He hasn't gotten his bike yet. The shop has gotten an Anthem 2 but he hasn't paid for it or actually received it yet. Once he receives it there is actually a chance the whole internet will shut down.

Looks like it was a full system restore and data reverted back to the last full backup.

I PROMISE I'll pay up soon and get my star - - just going to have to wait 'til after the holidays when there is a bit of discretionary $ again.

Oh, and welcome back Forums! I missed 'em.

haha, actually Im thinking of getting the shoes with the bike at the same time because I dont think my mom will spend that much money after this, haha. Anyway I got a MTB Jamboree coming up AKA Kayuh Lasak (Pedal Hard) this Sunday, too bad I cant use my new bike, I heard its a 47km ride this year and the uphill is as usual....steep, while the downhill is erm, switchbacky. The shoe in my mind now is Nike YVRIII, it looks good, it has a stiff rubber so you can walk around comfortably. Check Nikecycling.com for the pics, dont go under USA website, their Nike YVR is ugly. The one that my dealer has is black in colour, but when I went there yesterday, there are no more displaying it, lets hope its still in stock (pls god)

What last happened threadwise.

We had my bike thread where everyone told me I had a comfort bike, and it is pretty comfy

We had that other one where someone had posted siu's pic and I told them to ask her first, then I posted some hot biker chicks to get the thread going again.

That's all I remember.

basically yes, I was forced to go do something useful. 6 hours later it was still offline and I then cried myself to sleep.

actually, i suggest you get one clipless pedal and one platform pedal. that way you can have the benefits of clipless when climbing but will always have a free leg to put down should you find it necessary.

That was almost my fallback too. Trouble was, "useful" was taping and mudding sheetrock - - so I decided to make a pest of myself on RideMonkey for a while instead.
