It's actually surprisingly easy for me to push, and I don't skid, which is actually what causes most of the knee issues with fixed gears. When at an intersection I time the approach and will slow down or speed up in order to catch light as it turns green. Stop signs, I'll go slow and if the close is clear, I'll go. if not I'll stop it with the brakes trackstand and go when it is clear to go.

Super crazy good. Though, in all honesty, I've only ridden elcheapo RSTs, darts and toras. I found at about 90 PSI (VS the 75 that fox recommends) the fork feels quite good. Plus, now the sag seems to be better. Plus its held the exact same PSI for around a month now. Couldn't ask more from the price I payed.

There was nothing wrong. I just left it with a friend who was interested in building it up and I wasn't riding it at the time, apparently he lost interest... I used it for about a year it was a great trail bike. I'm planning on getting it ready for 4x by this spring.

My Specialized that I bought this past summer. Kinda new to the sport but I am hooked. I hope to have some new pedals on it soon and honestly I think thats all I wanna change. O yeah, you guys have some sick bikes!

Peyto with some new cranks, new/shorter stem (oops - gotta move the seat back a touch) and a Niner fork/QR front wheel combo now. Fatty rim really lets the tire widen out a bit - ought to help with some cush running this rigid instead of with the normal Pike. Some new brakes for my geared hardtail as well. All the older bits are going onto the Inbred frame.
The tall fork gives me about the same HTA now as with the Pike sagged under my weight. Excellent! Feels good so far. Easy fork swaps with the same brake setup - a rotor, tire/tube and crown race on the Pike already. Takes only a few minutes.
Going to compare this to an incoming Inbred 29er build - trying both rigid and suspended on the same trails to get a feel for whether I like the big wheels or no for my riding, then keep whichever is my preference for a SS east coast trail bike.

it feels nice. same fork height, but with fewer spacers under the stem, and a much lower rise bar. i've gone to the minimal rise sunline bars on the other bikes. kept a few spacers on the rigid fork until i can get it figured where i'll want it for the inbred frame as well.
i tried a totally flat salsa bar a while back, but could never get it to really replicate the feel of how i like my bars rotated forward a but.
a cheapie kore 30" wide and 20mm rise bar is coming for the new rig to help keep things low, paired with a 50mm thomson i already have. the TT is longer than the other two hardtails so the shorter stem ought to work out, especially since i roll the bars forward anyhow. looks odd, but feels and works fine for me.
those two rides of yours are looking mighty fine, btw.

Over the years,it's seen a few different variations in setup,from f&r racks and lights,to skinny roadie rubber (I know,I know...
).and I've had a few different gear ratios on there for various rides I've enjoyed on it....16t,18t,20 and (currently) 22t out back and 30t,32t,and 38t up front. It's been everything from only mtn bike (at one point),to utility bike,to commuter,to singletrack demon.
