sorry, my cell phone doesn't have macro

it's the hollowtech II cap that isn't necessary but is WAY nicer than the plastic ones included from SHIMANO.

DIRECT FROM ENGLAND I PRESENT TO YOU...

THE GOLDTEC SHIMANO CRANK BOLT

Nice! Glad to see you nailed down what you were after. Did you get to exchange e-mails directly with Rob? He's a great guy and creates some really quality products.

No, that would have been cool. I more or less just went straight through the site, arrived quick. Had to sign for it.

Yeah, I think he's gotten a bit more high-tech as his product line and sales volume has increased over the years.

Sorry I missed the original post regarding these.

How much were they? Did you buy the tool as well?

That's cool. Try to get a matching lockring for your cassette.

And post up a link to the site you got it from.

they are available from BETD, BETD Bicycle Components

and actually click on this one and scroll down a little bit

They ran me 9 british pounds plus 8 british pounds for shipping to the states. So it came out to thirty something dollars.

I originally ordered green to match my grips and CK headset I just got, but they were out so I had to get pewter

Then you're in luck. Chris King makes a lockring in Al that looks pewter.

On a separate note, I noticed this thing and am intrigued by it. Coincidentally a guy from my club just posted up pictures of his. This replaces the star nut method.

I have a 990 cassette with the red lockring and kind of liek that.

That headset compression thing intrigued me as well. Seems like a good idea

I found out who makes the compression bolt thing above. The item in the pic above is a Woodman Capsule Extrem. I think I saw them on BeyondBikes for about $20 or $30.
