Don't know if I fit your criteria, but 1000$ (never did a full tally on everything), not really stock trek 4300.
I just checked from memory, my bike costed me about 789$(without accounting for shipping+tax) not including the pedals, bb, and crankset, which I already had.

stock except accessories and I'm on the 2nd cassette/chain and the 3rd set of tires.. Found it on a huge sale $350. this is how I got hooked on biking. I was going to upgrade to a new $1000+ bike this year, but can't find one that I really like, I think I'm too used to this one.

I currently do not have one. However, I am in the market for a bike. I have been looking at $2,000 bikes, but I realized I am having just as much fun on my dad's budget hardtail. (hence the inspirational thread I decided to make). His ride is a 2005 Trek 4500. It may not have the best components, but I like it. My previous bike was a Specialized Epic, but it didn't have enough travel for me and didn't suit me well. I don't like the laid over xc style of riding.

Still kicking.
Not exactly stock, but was never a complete bike to begin with.

I haven't even brought it home yet. Will do that this Friday. I'll be adding a Thudbuster and Eggbeaters and possibly Fire XC tires, all from my rigid Trek 970.

Haha, I don't really have much use for it now that I have the Trek. I was a little rough on it, so whatever isn't broken, I'm keeping as spare parts or possibly selling in the future. It was a very nice bike though. *tear*

Your seat is looking a little droopy though.

That TASS looks really nice. I want to pick up the 2006 TASS Disc because it has an air fork and I don't think the 2007 has one?
