Tassajara vs. cobia

I have the opportunity to pay the same $ for either the fisher tass or cobia. I've never ridden a 29" before. I won't be able to test ride either. I'm skinny 6'4", and ride in Phoenix on gravel/sand/rock ledges in the Mountain Preserves and Mcdowell Mountains, and in the summer I go north and bike the woods of Wisconsin. I don't do drops and only occasionally make it up to the slick rock of Moab. Thanks for your help, I've learned a lot by reading the board.

I personally like the 29er better.. I bought an Xcal the other day... simply a joy to ride... Components on the Cobia need upgrading a little.. both derailers could use improving, but I would ride the heck out of it stock until you have to make an upgrade.... but besides that it b/n the 2 I would choose the Cobia.

The Tass is nice but simply nothing stands out to me on it... at least with the Cobia.. it has something that stands out... big a$$ tires!

I have ordered a Cobia as my new racing bike this year, its still not here after 3 weeks
but it is worth it and I would go for a Cobia.

Good luck on your new Bike
