XT shifters- 65$

I don't need these, but I got an add for jenson in my email and I noticed they are closing out the 06 xt shifters for 65$

https://www.jensonusa.com/store/produ...60+Levers.aspx

For comparison they are over 200 at pricepoint and performance.

https://www.pricepoint.com/detail/128...or-V-Brake.htm

No idea why the great deal, but I'm picking up a pair for a rainy day, or I'll resell them.

My XT shifters just arrived today from Jenson

They are bulk/ OEM packaged, not retail packaged, but are also brand new and come with cables. IIRC, the 07 XT shifters will let you shift multiple throws with one pull of the front trigger.

Food for thought-- I can shift all seven gears at once with my OTB DX shifters in one throw.

I noticed the red 06 MULE is on sale. Should the forums have a "deal" section?

Nope you are wrong, only XTR allows to release to gears at once, LX and XT only gives you 2-Way Release (Traditional Shimano rapidfire shifting and SRAM shifting - style)

I also picked up a rapid rise RD. I wonder how I am going to like it after so long with a standrad.

you will get used to it, as long as you have a positive mind about Rapid Rise

No doubt about that. And if for some reason I don't- the LX RD was only $29 bucks new and I'll ebay it used...

The overall build of it (compared to an abused 6 year old Deore) is very impressive. The spring tension feels twice as hard and I could not imagine it not rising under heavy chain load when properly adjusted.

My XT shifters and Race Face headset should be here any day.... It was to either get a King headset and no shifters or kill two birds with 1 stone so that's what I did.

OK, I'm not trying to be a smart @$$ with that comment.
I am currently building up a bike for the first time in 15 years of mtb and don't know what to do with shifters/derailleurs. My current bike has over the bar shifters and with the type of roller coaster riding I do, I frequently go through multiple gears in one shift. The idea of clicking a lever 4-5 times in a few seconds does not sound appealing to me.
I am going with Juicy sevens and the only thing holding up this build is shifting. I already have an XT cassette and front derailleur.

9 Speed thumbies await you. You buy the corresponding bar-end shifters and mount them on Paul's Thumbies mounts at this link.
