Ordering new frames doesn't suck. It will even have a ti railed seat on. And I don't give a rat's @ss if anyone else thinks it sucks or not.

Nice! I've been wondering about the Covert, but haven't heard much of it. I'll be excited to hear your take of it.

I think it will be a very un-sucky ride. Slightly less travel than I have right now on my squishy bike, but with nearly the same geometry. It's spot on for what I want. With my Lyrik up front (it's warranteed up to a 160mm fork) , it looks like it'll end up with a 67.5-68 degree head angle, smaller/better standover, a much stiffer back end, and a pound or so less. Got it coming with an RP23.

Ridemonkey and emptybeer have a few threads about the Covert; looks like I'm not the only one waiting on one.

My dream frame is an SC chameleon, I want to put an xc setup on there with like a Fox vanila or something with 140 travel. The only reason I bought the kona was because it was onsale. I usually go for what's a deal. Once I can afford to be picky, Im going to get a chameleon. I may or may not rebuild the trek 4300, but I definitely would like to have a hardtail.

don't be just yet. i may still have another week or two to wait. i plan on doing a nice and long beer fueled build session, taking a lot of pics during the process. a lot of curiosity out there on this frame, figure i'll try to answer some if it.

and i've sold off my old z-150, some juicy-5 brakes, and eventually the old squish frame to pay for it anyhow!

What really sucks is when the metal latch on the dog's lead freezes and breaks.

I will deny saying this, so don't quote me: insure it handsomely, then lock it up lightly near a college campus.
