My KHS XC Team!
Okay, so I decided to get a new bike this year, thanks to joining a team, the Cycle to Fitness Greyhounds (see sig). Cycle to Fitness is a great store with a great owner and great service. Anyway, I decided to try the KHS XC Team with the new XTR components (http://www.khsbicycles.com/03_xc_team_07.htm). After waiting what seemed an eternity, it finally came in.
Interestingly, the bike did not come “semi-complete” like most other bikes in the store, so I took this opportunity to go in and bother the owner for a couple of hours and take pics of the parts before installation (he was into it too). Oh, and of course, the pics include weights. Final build weight should be in at about 25 lbs., give or take some. Enjoy: Stem: http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...uild/Stem6.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...uild/Stem5.jpg Handle Bar (this will be replaced with a CF one at 120g): http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m.../Handlebar.jpg Front Brake: http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m.../FrtBrake2.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m.../FrtBrake5.jpg Rear Brake: http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...RearBrake3.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...RearBrake6.jpg Shifters: http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m.../Shifters1.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m.../Shifters2.jpg TBC... |
Continuing...

The interesting thing is some of the components actually look more like jewerly than functional components. |
I like it! Thanks for the photos of the XTR stuff!

Nothing screams "the thrill of riding" like generic pictures of bike parts plunked down on a scale!
Those pics got me so STOKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks, I really did enjoy. |
Well, I do have more, I just didn't think it'd be a good idea to crash the servers... ;)

I know those pictures have helped me to decide on my equipment choices...

Thanks, I really did enjoy. I dig the new XTR shifters, but I'll stick to the last generation pods for the same reason I didn't like the dual control levers; I'd grab too many/accidental shifts with the new trigger config. I'm sure it just gets some getting used to though. |
Cool components dude, remember to write a review bout it and post it here first :D Im really interested in knowing how does the new XTR brakes perform.
Yesterday I tested a Giant XTC with full 06 XTR (crankset, dc lever, hydraulic brakes, sprocket, RD, FD) I love how the DC feel but I feel that his XTR brakes doesnt provide enough stopping power like my Avid Juicy 3. |
