Replacement pads
I have XT M765 brakes and need new pads. Are the Shimano replacement pads the best or is there a differant brand that is better?

If those Shimano pads are $100 in Canada, you should buy them for $15 a pair from the US and pay the duties. You would still come out ahead.
Since Koolstop disc brake pads are practically the same price as the Shimanos here in the US, I don't see how Shimano pads could be five times as expensive in Canada.

Back on topic-
Resin pads are great for warm weather riding - they don't work well in the cold, but grip better at moderate to high temps.
In the winter, the metal pads work better than resin (which freezes)
Brake pads just don't cost $100. Try between $15 to $28, depending upon the brand & quality.
