newbie at mountain biking.... so .. please spare me...
What year is this rockhopper? I recently got the bike for $50 for some trail and mountain biking.
can anyone comment on the bike?

2002/2003 ish? Havent followed the rockhopper line, just going off of the other components.

I have a 1997 Rockhopper that is the same color blue as that one if that helps any.

Yes, I'll comment...are you sure it is not stolen? When you see something of this very decent quality going for $50., it raises questions. If you suspect it is hot...you will be cursed with bad karma. Nothing worse than a bike theif!

more than likely under the bottom bracket... (the bottom of the frame near the pedals)

hmmm.. no, with anything used, i don't think anyone can be 100% sure its not stolen. as for the situation of how i got it... hmm.. the guy i bought it from seem to own a big storage place with tons of other stuff in it... at least that is where he kept the bike...



as for the serial number... cant find that either... (what use would the serial number be?)

its a 2000 I remember buying one when I got back to San Antonio. They offered the blue/black scheme as well as a red/silver scheme. Not a bad bike for 6 bills back then.
