Another fork travel question
A freind of mine, A 2002 trek Fuel 90. The current fork is a Manitou Black, 80/100 MM. He is thinking about upgrading to a Rockshox Revelation. The Revelation line are all mountain forks adjustable to 130 mm.
He admits that 80 mm is all he needs and keeps the current fork set to short travel. The Price point and All mountain ruggedness of this fork has caught his eye. What's everyones opinion?

Killer fork, but yo buddies fuel may not climb well with a 130mm fork. (unless it's the U-Turn version)
Heck man, the Revelation is fairly pricey. Steer him toward the F100rlc or F80rlc. Similar price range if you look around the net.
He's kind of a weight weenie right? Greenfishsports.com was blowing out the Manitou Black Super Air (much lighter than your friend's Black, lighter than the Revelation too) for around two bills.
The main thing is making sure he doesn't go over 100mm.

The Reba is kinda like the Silent hero of the trail bike line. He could get a decent Reba for a little less money than the Revelation. I ride with a guy that has a Recon, it's nice too.
I'd say he can't go wrong with the Revelation, Reba, or Recon.
***NOTE***
I have owned the Tora and ridden the Recon a few times. I have only test ridden the RVL and Reba.

Yes the Reba is the logical choice in that Price range, $400 to $450. But I think he feels that it might not hold up to his 190 lbs. Again he does not jump, drop, or huck, But he would rather have something over built than underbuilt. It's the 130 mm all mountain fork on a XC race bike that seems odd. He basically want's a fork that doesn't dive when he brakes hard for a corner.
Any other suggestions in that price range?

Check the $430 price, as that may be the Coil spring Revelation rather than the dual air.
