So, i'm looking for a 10mm wheelset, for example the transition revolution wheelset, but I seem to remember someone telling me the DJ3 is the only one out the the dirt jump line that only accepts quick release small diameter axles. Is this true?

i'm running a 10mm bolt on axle on my '07 DJ 3. So no, the dj3 will accept both QR and bolt on axles, just not a 20mm thru axle (duh). At the very worst, you just grind the drop outs a little

I dont think anything that says DJ on it is going to be "lightweight".

the dj3 is heavy. You get used to it, but i wouldn't want it on anything but my dirtjumper/urban rig. I don't notice the front end being heavy at all anymore, but when i first got it i thought it was like a brick.

Punx- Ilove my DJ3, it's an awsome fork that is pretty cheap and does what it's made to do. It's not light, but I never noticed a difference when I swapped the DJ3 for an OEM mx comp piece o' junk. I definitley recommend the DJ3, and if you got extra cash, go for the DJ2, it's got a much stronger axle, my OEM hardrock wheels bend when I turn and use the front brake because of the extremely wimpy axle.

Anyways, I'm looking at the Hope Pro2 hubs. Anybody have them with something to rant/rave about them?

How did you fit a 10mm axle in the DJ3? Did they change the dropouts for that year? I have the 05 DJ3 and i'm pretty sure the dropouts could fit nothing more than 5mm axles.

I would love to see your 5mm hubs...they would break really fast.

Most QR hubs have a 9mm axle secured in place by a ~5mm QR skewer that fits through the axle of the hub. The skewer itself is not the axle, but merely the means that the axle stay attached to the dropouts. Many 9mm QR hubs can be converted to a 10mm bolt on hub and used in standard drop outs (or you can outright by a 10mm bolt on hub). Hence the question being asked about 10mm axles working on fork designed for a 9mm QR hub.

Ah, ok that definitley cleared things up. I'm pretty sure I'll just convert both my hubs to 10mm bolt ons when the time comes to buy my new Transition (hopefully soon)

Just the frame, and some parts like a rear axle and stronger spokes/hubs
