That looks super fun, never. The opportunity to do a race like that would most certainly pull me out of retirement.

66, in practice concentrate on clearing both the triple and the "log garden" section. Chances are you will get hurt trying that, and then you won't have to race.

I'd throw on a bigger front ring if you have one also. And maybe swap a 28T front onto girlscout's bike.

Oh 66 - - You are going to have a BLAST! I would just say 'hang with me' (or is it the other way around?) and you'll be fine. Young punks; youth and stamina is so overrated. Truly, Super-D is one arena where the ol' "age and treachery" thing can work to your advantage

Looks like a fun course. From the looks of the picts, there will be many passing opportunities if you know how to utilize them. Some looks narrow, but other stuff like those wide flowy berm corners and stuff are the things passing is made of. Don't swing wide and flow with the berm like 99% of everyone else does if you gotta pass; go in hot, grab a LOT of brake crossing outside the person in front of you, then pivot and cut under them flattrack style. I have made up more ground in Super-Ds with cornering than anything else.

Good luck! (and good skill)

Never - - those are a blast too! Now that's where one could finally find a use for those 3.0 Gazz tires.

Hi mtnbiker66-

You need to install a cycling computer so you can tap your inner reserves.

This should be interesting...

Your best bet would be sabotage, maybe push a chain pin out.

I'm sure you'll have a blast, I had a similar race but at 2000m elevation in Andorra; it was a mix between gruelling XC climbs and half hour long downhill sections. The important thing is to focus on what you do best and try and excel there (although to be honest I didn't really treat that as a race, I just went at my own pace ). I, for example, sucked at the climbs (especially in a fullface helmet in 35 degrees C with no water left ) so I just did my best on the downhills.

Either way I'm sure you'll have a blast. Good luck! (and don't ask for sabotage tips on the forums, otherwise there's evidence left behind... )

Alternatively, downright undo the cable (in case it's mechanic) and let him kill himself on the first DH.

Well I'm back. It was a super fun race. Girlscout got 3rd in the 18 and under not bad since he was riding aginst older kids. I finished one second off the podium.....arrrrgggggggg! I had a mech. on my first run, my chain stuck between my chainrings and I couldn't get it out. I was frustrated and did the bike toss at the finish line. I played it safe on my 2nd run and did OK. I beat the kid by 4 seconds so I'm good for now.
