What is one to do?

I have been without a bike for about 3 months now. It's an even bigger bummer than it might seem because while I was without it, I started a walking regiment/diet control and have lost about 40lbs since I last rode. I know the obvious answer is to buy a new bike, but with my current situation I can't see that happening for probably 2 or 3 more months. Walking out amongst my old romping grounds has made me sad. I know there is no point to this thread, but I just wanna ride. I'm sure you guys can relate.

***Here's to my new bike acquisition coming as soon as possible***

Yea. I am 16 and trying to buy a new bike. It seems like I will never get it, because so many other things come up. At the begging of the summer, my parents did say that with I was a few bucks short, they would pitch in, but then I would still have to pay the back.

if i were broke and jones'ing for a ride, I'd go get a beater. My dad and I were looking for a bike for him and went to garage sales and found a Specialized Hardrock and a Specialized Streetstomper for $10 for both! they had flat tires from sitting too long. We just aired them up and they were good to go! oh the streetstomper had a stuck link that was fixed with some penetrating lube and wd40. so $5 each and they've seen quite a few singletrack and road miles since then. they are both cromoly rigids with 18spd friction shifters. so kindof a rough ride but very light and nimble.

then i was looking for a bike for me and found a cromo iron horse knockoff for $30. It came with suntour shocks and 24spd acera drive train and sram grip shifters. it also only needed air in the tires. again not a great bike but i rode it constantly until i upgraded, it is still a solid backup bike.
