MTB with 26" front wheel.. and road rear wheel?

Hey'vryone,
Blessed with more money than sense, I bought and restored a beautiful bike. Then I went frankenstein on it, such that I am not looking to put a road wheel on the rear, with an MTB up front. Because I want to. No other reason than it looks nicer than the internal geared rear set-up it has. The wheel would be a single speed, trispoke wheel.

Clearance is not an issue as my bike, a monocoque EPX Roadster is full suspension (was, until I replaced the front fork with a... nevermind)

Please refer to the pics for more info.

What I am looking for, is information. Is this such an incredibly stupid idea that I am even contemplating it...etc.

I've got it stuck in my head, and unfortunately I need to see things through more often than not.

So, who feels chatty?

is this bike just for looks, or do you actually plan on riding it somewhere? Road? Dirt? methinks that is slightly more important.

do you have any reason for doing this?

You are looking to put a road wheel on the back or you aren't ? what ? Have you been huffing paint fumes in the SS/FG forum?

If you want to run a 700c on the rear I say why the hell not? it would make it into more of a 'funny bike' but I see no other reason not to.

Try it out. My roommate and I stuck at 7 speed freewheel on his old classic Bianchi roadie that only takes 6 speeds and ended up scratching up the steel on the drop outs and stays, but now we know that it can't take a 7 speed freewheel.

It's an idea that seems to serve no purpose.

If you're having fun, then just go with it :)

I want to bolt a set of roadie wheels to my ETSX too :D

Based on your photos, I see no provision for a rear brake, and the axle spacing might be different.
