Not racing, but going. I'll be there Saturday and Sunday. Should be fun! If you see anyone rolling around looking like a poseur on a Nomad, its me!

I'd say just relax and have fun. You'll most likely have a lot of kids in your class. Your first race will be a good guage how you stack up with other riders your own age. PM Salsa he should have a tip or two for ya.

Go play with your bikes.

I'm leaving Saturday morning from Sacramento, getting there in time for it to open. Probably leave around 5:30!

most of the time when i go to a norba or big race there a lot of kids but there out of shape. i end up racing like 2 poeple out of 10. just warm up and race your race preride the track. eat breakfast 2-3 hours before race

if you are racing any norba races on the east coast i'll be there

Isn't that what all bikes are for? Just for show, who actually rides them?

that sucks...just found out i have to race in 17-18 division instead of 15-16. "age as of dec 31 2007" oh well, looks like there are less sponsored/team bikers in that division anyway. plus, if you're racing in that divison at that age and not sponsored/on a team, you couldn't be thatt.. fast, rite..

i've got another noobie question:

for seaotter, what licenses do i need?
first it says i can get a oneday USA Cycling license pass, but then when i go on to register, i have the option of buying a one day NORBA One Day License good only for Sport and Beginner Categories... what is the difference if any. and should i get it online? how would i present it at the race?

What it means is you'll be fine with a one-day. Beginners and sports can use one-day licenses. Once you get to Expert, they assume you are serious enough to be concerned about accumulating points and to do that you have to have the season license.

I cannot speak to the Otter from personal experience (sadly ), but the courses tend to be less technical than other venues just because they do not have the vertical elevation to work with. It is THE seaon-opener festival though. I envy you - - go soak it all up and have fun!

so the NORBA oneday pass is the same thing as the USA cycling pass right?

Correct. USA Cycling is the blanket governing body over NORBA (off-road) and USCF (road).
