Hi, newbie with a question about tires
Hello, my name is Andy. I come from a motorcycling background but never spent much time on a bicycle.
My question is this. About the size indicated on my tire (26x2.25), does that refer to the width of the tire or the width of the wheel? Sorry if thats a dumb Q. I'm looking for some tires that will fit my wheels that offer better road use but still have some off road capabilitites. I found some that are 26x2.35. Will these fit? Thanks

Yes, that does refer to the width. 2.35 should fit on most mountain bikes. When you get up around 2.5, 2.6 or 2.7's it is good to check the specs on your fork and frame to see what they will handle.
On my bike I an run a 2.8 on the front and a 2.7 on the back.
