The Mrs got a Rize out of me.

Well, as I said in another thread I was going to buy the Mrs a Rize, so yesterday the lil' monsters and I went and pick up the bike, a Rize 4.

This morning she took it out for the maiden voyage but we were pressed for time so we hit some fun single track with a few small ruts in it.
She had a blast, we get back to the lot and I ask her how she likes it. Seems to inspire a lot of confidence in her as she hates ruts and her last bike liked to follow them. On the Rize, she found her self aiming for the ruts, riding into them, out of them, hoping over and said the bike was A LOT more stable the her Bear. She also hates tight switch backs and usually walks 'em but on the new ride she made every turn with out a problem.

Yes the geo. is different which is the biggest reason but all the parts on her Bear are at least 6yrs old and very worn and need some rebuilding.

Ok, enough of the chit chat, here is the bike last night before the dirt

Amazing what a new bike will do for the confidence, huh? I find myself getting over obstacles on my new FS that I had problems with on my old hardtail.

Is that one of the carbon or aluminum Rizes? It's a nice looking bike.

I custom built my wife a bike last year. It was totally pimped out. Problem was she does not ride a 21" bike so I ended up keeping it for myself.

I have a new Rize 4 also and love it, in fact I just got back from riding last week in Colorado and Utah. These bikes are really nice handling and comfortable and have a really solid feel, almost like a dirt bike the way they track over bumps, which I attribute to the longer travel suspension and HD frame design. My Medium size Rize 4 (aluminum frame) weighs 29 lbs, about a pound and a half more than a comparable Stumpjumper FS.

Nice bike. I rode the Rize 3 and loved it. Can't really swing another new bike right now though
