well i just started up MTB again to keep me sane while i work my crazy work weeks to save up money. i settled on the cannondale caffeine 3. i got this bike for a number of reasons, mainly i wanted to try the shock that is integrated into the stem, i like how it is further up the fork. however, my old bike from a couple years ago was a raleigh m-80, with some rock shox jett at the time. the overall performance of the bike was good, however, i always had the feeling i was riding it too hard for what it was intended for. eventually, the gear system snapped in half, so i said screw it. i'm just now getting into riding again, but i do not want to fix my m-80. i am on a limited budget, and i am really happy with my purchase, but havent taken delivery of it yet. my question is what kind of riding was this bike meant for, and how hard would i be able to ride it? also, what parts would i need to upgrade to ensure the most durability out of the bike, and what exact parts/manufacturer would you recommend? please keep in mind i really have no idea what is what when it comes to MTB, i just love to ride

the caffine is a truely cool 29er XC bike.

The F3 is not a 29er.

My wife picked up an F3 this summer. Its a nice cross country bike and I wouldn't worry at all about its durability. Just upgrade parts as they break or wear out.

Just ride it.

i would say my only complaint with the bike is that i'm looking for tires that are just a tad bit more aggressive than what the bike comes with, as the trails i ride are often muddy. i see alot of people have maxxis tires, how much do they run? as i notice the comments, it seems as though i got the kind of bike i was looking for, which makes me happy.
