I run a 32X18 and it works good for trails but it's pretty easy to spin out.

I once seen this guy lift the rear wheel while riding it & swing it around & stuff on a real sharp turn.
Pretty awesome.

Is that to me? I do run Time clipless on my Bullit but on my SS I ride platforms. I find that I can get sloppy on my Bullit and a SS hardtail with platforms will keep me sharp as far as picking lines and things of that nature.

I took a long and hard look at that exact model bike before getting a (barely) used On-One Inbred 29er. I tried to talk myself into it, but the frame was a bit small and I've done the too-small frame compensated with massive stem and looooong seatpost thing. I think for the money you got a heck of a deal. Totally agree on the stem-thing. This ain't a DH rig, so what's up with the massive lump of a stem? And it is short too!

I ride both 32-19 and 32-21 depending on the terrain on my SS. Of course my top speed on the flats is limited to 14 mph and 12 mph spinning at 90 rpm, but I don't like walking up hills because I'm geared funky.

Should you want to make a upgrade in the future to geared, don't even bother with the front derailleur. Most of the time you spend in your middle ring anyway, so a 1x9 would be pretty easy and cheap to accomplish. What makes your setup even better is that the wheels are cassette-ready so you wouldn't need a new wheel. Rear derailleur, cassette, chain, cable/housing and rear shifter and you have variety!

thats my next investment, making it a 1x9 or probably 1x8. My friend works at a LBS and could get me some used stuff just laying around at an amazing price so i think it's gonna happen soon. There are 2 sections on the trail i can't get in my SS but before on a geared bike they weren't a problem.

I have that exact same bike, and I love it. I have since built a Gary Fisher Sugar 3 that I will ride most of the time.

I have the same bike. It has been a lot of fun. I also think you should keep it a SS.
