New Bike!!

well, I bought it back in Jan off of Amazon for 169 bucks and as much as I wanted to ride in the winter I didnt. So, my first outing with it was last week.

Now, I know this isnt some fancy bike but it will do just fine for the time being!!

any and all comments are welcomed along with all and any advice on mtb'ing!!

Columbia Trailhead Disc Men's Mountain Bike
17.5in Frame
Sram shifter and Shimano rear derailleur
RST suspension fork with 100mm of travel

Personally the bike seems to ride great, the only bad thing I have to say at the moment is the seat is a bit hard or it could be that im just not use to riding a bike and need to get use to it.

so, anyone know of any good semi comfortable seats that wont hurt so much after a hour ride!!

ah, in all its glory!!

not sure how good of a frame it is but its not too heavy!!

front fork RST model, anything good or bad about them??

one of the things that was the deciding factor for me were the disc brakes, but the front ones dont seem to brake as good as the rear. not too sure why, anyone??

still need to grab a bottle holder and bottle/ also might be grabbing new pedals as the plastic ones dont seem to do that great of a job with grip and keeping the shoe on there.

Many pulley wheels (the red wheel in the photo) are plastic. It's fine.
That fork is fine... not great, but fine. You will want to upgrade later if you really get into mountain biking.
There are tons of reasons why a brake won't be as powerful. Those are cable actuated brakes, not hydro, so it's probably just a pad/cable adjustment issue. Either that or your pads are contaminated.
