What other activities are you into?

I started racing BMX at age 11 and have always been involved with cycling in one way or another. However, I've always found other sports/activities that I enjoy and help keep my mind fresh. Plus, it's sometimes a good break from cycling.

I enjoy mechanics, so I bought a 1970 Chevy K10 Pick-up. It's a 4x4 and I'm planning on restoring it. I've already rebuilt the whole drivetrain and brake system. I installed front disc brakes and new rear drum brakes. All new(used) front and rear axles, new drive-shafts...etc.

I also spent a lot of time involved in water sports. I did a lot of water-skiing. I was very involved with Windsurfing for a number of years. I Scuba Dive. I surf. I love to sail. I'd like to try kite-surfing, but need to learn to use a stunt kite first.

The reason I bring this up, is that now, with my Wife and Son, I decided to buy a tandemn kayak. Picked it up last night. I can't wait to take it on it's maiden voyage this weekend.

I decided on an Ocean Kayak Cabo. Lime Green with blue hawaiian print seatbacks. The shop didn't have a set of matching paddles that I like, so they're on order. I'll post a pic when I get everything together.

So, what does everyone else do other than cycling?

When I'm not on my bike, I'm usually working at my computer. I'm one of the few people I know who's career is in computers, but don't mind spending extra time on them for fun, or recreation. Web design, A/V production, backend programming, I enjoy it all

4x4 in my little Ranger, Photography (I love that), Video Editing (Mountain Bike of course), and building (MTB Stunts.. )

So more-or-less something to do with Mountain Biking. I got into photography and video editing when I was broken, or In Repair, and couldn't ride.. and then they just stuck. I gotta say, Biking is my life!

Im in the same boat as you right now with photography. I took a class this quarter on photography and it was fun. I have always had interest in it but never got around to trying it until recently. Now that my wrist is broken and I wont be able to start racing this year Im going to buy myself a vamera tommorow and photograph the races. I think it will be a good way for me to get into a new hobby and enjoy the outdoors at the same time while my wrist is gimped out.

Otherwise, I have snowboarded for 8 years, but I am loosing interest due to bad snow years and mountain biking. I am an avid outdoors person and love to backpack in the backcountry and camp in general. I also love fly fishing for trout, salmon and steelhead, as well as hunting for pheasant, quail and duck.

I would actually love to do any sport, extreme or not in the outdoors, but thats just a matter of time and money. Im not much of an indoor, or organized sport kinda guy, but I did play baseball for 12 years as a kid and was quite good at it.

With 2 dogs at home, I go "dog park-ing" a lot. I also play the didgeridoo, and like to beat on hand drums. Winter time I snowboard. Play soccer when I can. Some of my favorite things are: wandering aimlessly through the forest, climb trees, write, read, learn, volunteer at the humane society. Of course riding my bike is my very favorite.

Ice hockey 2 or 3 times a week, windsurf when it blows (very seldom in S. FL), scuba dive during lobster season, and darts / drinking when it rains. I think kite-boarding is the next thing because it takes less wind and just looks cool.

I break more stuff playing soccer than I do mountain biking. Last night, I sheared two cleats off of my shoes.
Also like basketball, do a bit of reading.
Once I have the money for decent gear, I'll probably get into weekend backpacking, or maybe canoing (sp?).
Other than that, I enjoy almost anything outdoors.

I'm a sports freak. I like watching sports (basketball, baseball, football, tennis, soccer, ...), but I'd rather be playing them. I also play a lot of Frisbee. And, of course, I wouldn't be here if I didn't mountain bike.

During the winter, I like to snowboard mostly. I also lift weights year round, in order to keep in shape.

When I'm not outside, I do lots of things on the computer. I graduated with a Computer Science degree, so I like to program. And last, but definitely not least, I love video games (probably too much).

riding a bike when I'm not injured is number one priority.

I like to cook, brew beer, make hot sauce, play guitar, sew, snowboard, take pictures, and do nothing at all.

and more......

I downhill ski in the winter (thats my main sport). I also race Nitro powered Radio controled cars ((1/8 and super 1/10). I like to build stuff out of metal or anything, i like to make and fiddle around with things. Im also into Air-Cooled Volkswagens(i'm restoring a 74 super at the moment) and i do a little Auto-X from time to time (also called Solo-2). I also just like to be outdoors hiking, climbing or playing around with friends...ect. Im on the computer a lot but i dont like to be, i use it to get information on the things im into, there are a lot of good deals and info online at the click of the mouse.

One last thing i like to do is, well.... nothing at all. somtimes it's great to just take a day off from everything and chill.

You name it, I've done it.

Mountain biking is my primary activity, but I love to camp, swim, fish, party...

I'm also into computer a LOT... I'm a forum junky. A big chunk of my time is spent on the internet. When I'm bored and can't ride.. I'm in front of the computer.
