What bike did I just buy??

Hi everyone - new here

I recently had my 2000 Specialzied Rockhopper stolen and just got the $ for a replacement from the insurance co. I wanted either a Rockhopper or Hardrock. After going to the store, I was set on a black Rockhopper-Disc 19" frame. They had the bike I purchased at $819 and there was one right beside it at $999 and it was called the Rockhopper comp (also with disc brakes I believe). All funds in Canadian $ by the way. Anyways I didn't think much of it at the time - seemed odd that the other bike was almost 200 more expensive seeing as it looked like there was no difference (besides the compact frame on the other one).

So everything was rung up (also bought a Hardrock for the girlfriend as hers was stolen too) and as we were leaving I decided to ask another sales guy what the difference was between my bike and the one at $999. He said that the cheaper one was "more of a unisex" bike and besides that he didn't know much else. Frankly he didn't seem too knowledgeable, but I still am obviously curious at the difference

Going on Specialized's website, I see they have the following models:

Rockhopper Pro Disc
Rockhopper Women's
Rockhopper Comp Disc
Rockhopper Comp Disc Women's
Rockhopper Disc CA
Rockhopper Disc Women's

I definetly did not buy the Pro Disc or Comp Disc so I assume mine is the Rockhopper Disc CA (CA for CAnada maybe??). I'm just curious as to what the difference is between the bike I bought and one for $999 that was the Rockhopper Comp.....I can't see a difference price wise between the compact frame and a regular frame.

Oh also another thing.....I noticed a small scratch on the top tube...probably from fitting both bikes into my Celica on top of each other so it serves me right. I assume I can get touch up paint for aluminum and that should do the trick??

Yea you can get touch up paint. I've had to do that to my bike a few times now. I'll check out the bikes in 1 second and try to get you an answer, but just guessing the components on the higher bike are probably a little better.
