2003 GT i-Drive 2.0

I recently bought this frame one Ebay.

Upon delivery I discovered a gouge in the chainstay and a slight dent. Gotta love all sales are final even when the description says no dents.
Anyway, I am wondering two thing maybe three. With a slight dent is the fame unsafe to ride? If so, does anyone know where to get replacement rear triangles? And the possible third, Does anyone know what years the rear triangle for this bike could be compatible with? GT makes it hard to find out any information with any kind of ease.

Thanks in advance peeps.

if the bike was sold to you on terms other than what was stated in the ad, you should either be able to get ebay involved for a refund or return.

Sales are NOT FINAL when the merchandise is not as described. How did you pay, can you dispute the transaction?

How slight? I mean, it is a used frame. Can you take a close-up photo?

Getting any support for the old GT frames might be a bit of a problem. GT is now owned by Pacific Cycle, a division of Dorel...It's a new company and apparently they don't stock parts and won't look after warranty adjustments for the old bikes

Getting info on the older ones is pretty damn hard to do... I believe you will be out of luck if it is 2001 and prior. I have a 2000 HT frame and I couldn't find specs anywhere. I would also try to contact customer support directly at GT. Their contact info is on their website.

I have been in contact with the seller and he seems reasonable. I am going to take a picture to send him tonight. Also, I am going to take it to the bike shop to get their opinion. It may not be bad enough to worry about. The bike is a 2003 so it is after the pacific take over.

I still would like to look into a rear triangle due to the normal wear and tear on this one. I got the fram with a shock for 170.00 with shipping so I made out, in my opinion.

I have also had a hard time locating specs for this model and like I said it is a 2003. I did contact GT and they said that they couldn't help and gave me two numbers to corporate (pacific) which has been busy everytime I have tried to call. That is getting discouraging. I would just be nice to be able to pull specs online. Or talk to someone. And there are no local GT reps.
