Equipment for Newbie
Hello all, you all helped before with y earlier question about my bike ghost shifting...apparently, I had one link in my chain that wasn't as tight as it should be and LBS replaced it with a new one....on to my next question...I am looking to purchase a few things I will need on the trails...like a camelbak, a multi tool a pump and some catridges and some inner tubes...now I am on their website but there are a lot to choose from and do not know what my bike needs...I am going to include a link to the bike I won with its specs so maybe some kind person could help me and get me going. I am a pretty big guy (6'1" and 340 lbs) and I was thinking about getting the Camelbak Hawg because I had heard that some guys were bothered with the smaller pcks b/c the straps weren't too comfy for a person with braod shouldersand back. Any information on any of the products I had mentioned or anything I missed would be greatly appreciated... Thank you all in advance! You guys are great.

how do i know if my bike has tubeless tires or has inner tubes?

do you have a valve stem sticking out of your wheel? These are usually attached to a tube.

6'1" 340lbs? Don't mean to be rude, but are you a football player? I just can't think of many dudes that size that are atheletic enough to MTB that aren't football players.

well, I am pretty large. I never played football but I did play rugby for a little while in college...I am a very hard person to describe because I am pretty nimble for a fat guy..I can still play ice hockey and outskate most of my thinner friends...and I took to a bike like a duck takes to water when i was young so now that i have been riding again for a couple of weeks, it's all come back :) just ths weekend i was zipping around on the trails again...obviously i am trying to lose weight with biking...but i'm still quite spry.

epicurean's list is good. For a camelback, just go to your LBS and try them on. Most are pretty adjustable, but then again I'm almost 200 lbs lighter than you so they probably fit me a bit differently :)

i went out and got the camelak hawg and i think it is really awesome so far....it has the ability to cinch up so if you do not need the extra space, it seems light and not so big...but has capability of expanding when the need is there...thank you all for the help
