Marin Mt Vision - I am in LOVE again

I forgot how much I love this bike. Ridden C'Dale, Specialized, GT, and Marin... somehow I always fall in love with Marin.

Had her for two years, and just did a good look over for this season. I am in LOVE again.

I can't believe more people don't ride Marin, given their great bikes and customer service.

I'd agree, Marin are great bikes and their designs are unique and elegant compared to all those 4 or 6-bar bikes that look like farm tractor on the market..... I feel most mountain biker are a conservative bunch so if a bike looks too far away from the main stream, they won't embrace it or afraid of it. I have a Whyte PRST-1 design by John Whyte and I just love the bike as its rear wheel traction is just incredible on that thing and it share the rear swingarm similar to the Mount Vision I think. Marin is where mountain biking started and it deserved more respect and recognition.

Really? Most mountain bikers I know are a little nutty I think Marin isn't more popular just because they aren't more popular. I don't even know where there is a Marin dealer in my area. But I have Trek, Specialized, Kona, Gary Fisher, and Giant dealers around every corner. Oranges and Moots are great bikes too from what I've heard, but I've only seen people riding them once (both in the same ride actually) and I've never seen either in any store.

That's a nice looking bike, for sure. But doesn't it basically look like the old Y-series bikes from Trek, too?

They don't sell them here either, although they do sell Trek, Giant, Specialized, Cannondale, and Gary Fisher. I think we might even have a few Raleighs at one LBS. But no Marins.

That's a nice bike. Looks out of place with the city lights in background.

I love my Marin Pine Mountain (steel hardtail), but I just don't like the looks of their full-suspension bikes. It's completely a personal preference thing, but I prefer more traditional looking frame designs. Call me old-fashioned.

I like the Marin hardtails, the full suspension ones are weird looking, but I'd ride one.

I'd put a lefty on the Marin so I could have the weirdest bike on the trail.

Yeah, the only dealer in my area that carries Marin specializes mainly in road bikes, so they have a few of the base model hardtails and that's it.

Y frame had the poorly placed pivot and pedaled like crap, BB actually part of the swing arm just like all those wal-mart bikes. It also doesn't have the advantage of elevated stays.

All I gotta say is I never thought I'd climb with a FS like I do now. I don't ever think to reach for the lockout, plus I think the frame is sex on wheels.
