converting from 80 to 100mm
Hey guys i finnaly brought my bike home. I am the proud owner of a kona cinder cone. Anyways i was wondering wether to convert my marzocchie exr air fork to 100mm. It is currently at 80mm and i was told at my LBS that they could convert it to 100 for about 12(US) dollars. Just a minor adjustement. Is this ok to do? should I?

I would do it. But then again I like long travel...The extra 20mm will tilt your bike back slightly making the turning feel slightly different but it will be better suited for going dh. When going uphill you will notice more of an inclination to tip backwards. You may have to do some minor adjustments to your riding but it will be fine. I am 120% sure I would do this. I couldn't live with 80mm of travel

I have 80, but if I could have 100 for 12 bucks, I'd do it in a heartbeat, and I'm a XC geak for the most part.

I'm getting into DH and just bought a Dorado so I'm biased on this right now. But I say bump up that travel.

I would do it. I like 100 mm travel forks. Its just under an inch difference, but its better to have it and not use it then to need it and not have it. In doing so, you may like to soften the ride a bit to save on the hands if you ride rough trails. I like to use the full travel of a fork if its available without bottoming out.
