wide MTB shoes?
 

Looking for a good set of MTB shoes. I have the sidi mega road shoes which fit great, but I'd appreciate not having to spend another 229 bucks. Anyone have some other options?

Lake makes some of their models in wide versions.

Yeah, and I know some shimano shoes are wide as well, but they never tell you in the descriptions on performance or anywhere....

That's because you'll more than likely have to special order; not a lot of shops are going to stock wider shoes, that they aren't going to sell many of. Or, you can also order direct from the Lake website...

Try a pair of Diadora shoes - they sure fit my (wide) feet well.

Pearl Izumi Ampere M1s. It's the only thing my LBS had that fit my feet.

You already have Sidi's so you know you should get Dominator Mega's. I know that my Genius' convinced to get Dominators. Check around and I'm sure you can beat $229. I see them new on EBay pretty regularly.

I have the same problem. The specialized shoes are first class and relatively wide. I think my latest one which is a 2007 model, lists for $130. It has a slick side buckle with a ratchet adjustment to tighten the top strap. Very comfortable and I don't even need to use my orthodics. It comes in half metric sizes like "45.5".

The top strap is very wide, so it holds well to your foot with little pressure.

I don't know why anyone would need to spend more than $130 unless it's a super-light thing.
