Got a New Bike............Sorta

Well, just for the heck of it I went to one of the many LBS's today just to see what they had. I knew that they carried Giants and Konas, but I wanted to see exactly what they had. A Blue and Silver Giant caught my eye and I noticed that It was a Rincon. It looked like a VERY durable bike, and I hadn't done as much research as I had on some of the other bikes I was looking at, but I knew Giant makes some dang good bikes. I got talking to one of the salesmen there and I took it for a test ride. It was a 22" frame, which is about right and it felt great to ride. It had me sit more upright and it just felt really comfortable. I didn't have my money today, so I put a $50 deposit on it and i'm going to pick it up probably monday or so.

I thought you were getting the Fisher Wahoo. Oh well, I considered the Giant Yuknon myself, which is a step up from the Rincon. It says you currently ride a Trek 4300, which is not much different from the Rincon. Oh well, in my opinion, you actually downgraded your bike. The Wahoo isn't much of an upgrade either, but IMO it is a better value.

I don't really look at it as a downgrade. The frame is strong as hell, it has the same exact derailleurs as my Trek. The only bad thing about it that I can see is the fork. It's about the same as the 4300.

If you can afford it and you like it, hey I'm all for it. If you don't need to "upgrade" and are satisfied with the performance than why spend more? A more comfortable ride could be viewed as an upgrade anyway.
Enjoy the new bike.
Ride on, ride on
