i'm off the glentress on saturday for the first time, it's in scotland, might be a bit of a trek for you if you don't live here mind!

It all depends on where you live. We can all give you our opinions on the best trails in our opinions, but that won't do you any good if you live nowhere near any of us. Your best bet is to go to a LBS and ask them for trail reccomendations or just ask around locally.

Definitely go to some local shops and ask around. A lot of state parks, or county parks near metro areas have bike trails. this is true of Ohio and Minnesota at least.
