I don't mind the webs that are empty, but I hate the ones with the big fat spider sitting in the middle, already ate a couple of those.

FROM MYTHBUSTERS------"A Daddy long-legs spider has the most potent venom of all spiders, but is unable to pierce human skin.
busted
A Daddy long-legs was able to bite through the skin of Adam’s arm. He reported nothing more than a very mild, short-lived burning sensation. Analysis of the venom proves it does not approach the potency of' the Black widow spider."-----
See the thing that i saw on discovery about the daddy long legs a few years ago didnt say anything about the potency of its venom, which is what the tested on mythbusters.
The show that I watched was saying that the daddy longlegs "holds" the most amount of venom compared to its body size. Not the potency. So either way, wether it pierced human skin or not, its not a very venomous spider, it just has a lot of it.
Could still be bullcrap...but I remember seeing this on a documentary type show years ago.

The photos in this thread are not verified. The injury is likely to be from an infection, not a spider.

with consideration of all the other pics i've seen,...it looks like a nasty recluse bite to me.
Do a yahoo or google image search for brown recluse bite. You'll be suprised at some of the bite wounds you'll see.
Its no urban legend.

and if you are right, the infection is a direct result of the bite. so if u get bitten by a brown recluse, that is what happens.
brown recluse bites are very very rare and many people see them on a regular basis in the south central usa. There have been recorded black widows with a 2 inch leg span (normally 1/2 inch). So that guy may have been bitten by an abnormally large spider.
