I HAVE NONE!!!!! went for the maiden voyage today rode 100 yards on pavement to the base of the trailhead, i stand up and start the climb get about 100 feet and BANG my chain explodes. one pin gone and another looks sketchy. i turn aound and roll back to my car. i had one spare pin but i didn't feel comfortable continuing with a weak link. whats worse is that i hooked up with group ride and my brand new ride busted after 100 feet of trail i probably coulda borrowed a pin from one of them but i didn't know them

well i stopped by the shop on the way home picked up a pack of pins (man those little guys are expensive) and fixed my chain. sat down licked my wounds and went right back out to the trail head. finally got to ride my bike 2 months in the making. the blur is laterally very stiff the suspension is plush and soaks up the small to medium stuff very well. one think that didn't live up to the reputation is the pedal bob issue, don't get me wrong it is not bad, in fact its very minimal but it is still present. i stood up and cranked up as many hills as i could and noticed a slight up and down, it's still the best climber i've ridden even better then my marin hardtail, the xtr crankset is extremely smooth and man it is purdy, xtr shifters and derailers did the job but cable stretch began to cause a few missed shifts near the end.. i think its going to take a few rides to get everything dialed in and once it is, i think it will be outstanding

Sounds like you got off to a smooth start. Don't worry, I blew out a rockshox Rear shock on it's first ride.

the first time i rode my trek liquid i blew the seals on my rock shox psylo, oil everywhere, i guess i'm cursed with bad first rides

Well i have a Stumpjumper FSR Comp and it works well and it wasnt a gazillion bucks

I somehow doubt this 'exploding chain' phenomenon is isolated to Santa Cruz, and that no Specialized bike has ever had a chain go boom.

i never said it was my bike that caused the chain to explode i figured i just had bad luck. and as for the gazillion bucks you must be really broke if you consider 3000 dollars a gazillion.

and it also isn't as cool as a blur. why do people always hate on what others have. BTW you can get a blur specced almost exactly the same as you bike for about 2200 (only 500 more than an FSR comp) that would work well+1.

As a test, try locking out the rear shock. I did this with a demo blur. After locking out the shock, it was apparent that the front fork was the cause of the bob. Now lock out the fork, and the bob is ... almost ... gone.

I have one on order that should be in any day now. I can't wait!!!!! Please shoot the group another report after you have a few more miles on your scoot.
