The Father Wants In

Ive been mountain biking for awhile now. I always have fun on the trails and riding with my friends. Even my brother is training with me on some easy local trails. My dad new it from the start that eventually, he would be pressured into buying a bike. The time has come. He as always been an outdoor freak and wants to try riding some trails with me. He is looking at a Raleigh Mojave 8.0. He is about 5 10 in hight and ways about 170. He has already tried a Trek 4500, and a cannondale (somename i forgot) He says the cannondale is too cramped in the pedal area, even with the seat at the proper height. He likes the ride of the Raleigh best though. Any other suggestions? Also, we have specialized, trek, cannondale, gary fisher, k2, haro, raleigh, ironhorse, and mongoose distributers in town.

I ride a Raleigh Mojave 8.0. I like it alot, and I think it is an awesome bike. If the bike is lacking anywhere, it would be the fork. Other than that, it serves its job well.

Get the Raleigh Mojave 8.0, I love the bike.. I was going to get it but slightly over budget for me for just better components and same fork.

if he is happy and comfortable on the Raleigh then thats the bike to get. a non fitting bike will cause one to lose interest quickly and Raleigh is a lot of bike for the $. Jamis is the same IMO along with the non Xmart versions of Mongoose

Thats cool that your family members want to get in on the action. My parents would never even imagen going down the mountain because they wanted to.

I wish I could get my KIDS to go with me. Ive even tried to bribe them. my youngest daughter(12) goes a couple times a year, my 2 sons(16,13) have been once in the last 3 years and my oldest daughter(15) hasnt been in 3 years.
my, as of now, unborn child WILL go frequently until it gets old enough to make its own choice. Ive got a bike seat picked out already. ha ha
