This is just so sad. There's really nothing more to say, except that I hope his family finds some comfort in knowing that he's at peace, and that he died doing what he loved.

Such terrible news. Strangely enough, I was just talking about him the other day with a friend of mine... I "knew" him from Foo, where he always seemed so quick-witted and fun. My condolences to his family.
