Lets see your home built obstacles

I have just started riding and I am tring to get in as much practice as I can. So I want to build something in my backyard to that will help to get better. I need some inspiration though. So lets see them. What do you have in your backyard?

What about your front yard then. Front yards are fine as we do not dicriminate against anyone or anything here on this bike friendly forum. Ohh wait I can't exclude the non-biker community though umm....

I'll post pics in a minute, this ramp ROCKS!

Built today, feels great to finish a project successfully, although it's not straight, and crooked in some spots, that wont be a problem when actually jumping.

I made this last week.

I'm thinking of making some sort of "floating 2x4" to work on my balance.

Don't have a pic of only the jump but you can see most of it in this pic. Nothing big but a lot of fun when on a nice slope.

Nice teeter totter. Looks very stout. Did you just run a long bolt all the way through the middle to make that work. Looks fairly simple though. By the way I love the VW in the backgrond. Great stance on it.

Ha! Love the signs. How much land are you working with?

Here's a portable ramp we built. Super mellow transition makes for stepdown fun.

We live on five acres. I have been slowly carving in trails for the last two years. I'm up to about a half mile so far.

woah awesome ramp. do you have the geometry or did you just redneck it? id love to make a ramp like that where it gives you some time to think on your way up that ramp rather than it feeling like you just hit a bump and shoot 10 feet in the air

I remember when we built this beast. Gostro had his protractor and GPS out and sketched it out on a drafting table. It took about 3 days to get it just right. I think Gaustro still has the drawing. The design has a lot to do with a grinder from the Asheville Brewing Co.

How do you get that curve into it?

Hose it down and put a cinderblock on it?

its not that much of a curve... probably just a normal piece of plywood.

lol ive built a curved ramp before, trust me just putting down plywood does not work! you would think it would, but it doesnt. you can soak it and let it sit so it curves or you can cut grooves on the underside, like 1 inch apart from the other one, about 1/8 inch deep into the plywood, and this will allow it to flex
