Tires and tubes
 

What kind of tires and tube are you guys running in your bikes?
Is anyone using thorn resistant tubes or anything thicker than the normal tubes?

i have been using regular walmart tubes :rolleyes: . i usually try to get away with "regular" thickness tubes. i will probably have to change this once out west...

i use normal bontrager tubes or specialized tubes, just b/c my lbs gave me a bunch of them when i bought my bike. they work fine.

I've been through quite a few tire / tube combinations and
have settled on the following:

Tires : IRC Backcountry
Tubes: Bulk purchased regular IRC tubes (cheap)

I've still got some of the 10 tubes I purchased last year.
Have had very few problems with thorns on the Backcountry's
and ride a bunch of seldom used trails that have a lot of debre
on them. I run lower pressures because of all the rocks and
roots we have here in WV and most the flats I've had
are in those real nasty areas when I end up pinch flatting.

I've tried a few things and haven't yet found anything better than my stock Specialized Adrenalines. Jury's still out here...

2 years ago, I went thru 3 tubes in 1 ride. Bought some Stan's and haven't had a SINGLE flat since. All I can say.

Res Pro on the front, Roll-X Sworks on the back. Stans in both.
