What should I do?
 

I got a Raleigh Mountain bike in 2005 i'd say and at the time I got it just to ride around the places in the city. Now I've gotten more into going on trails, but my bike just isn't holding up like I would like it to. I don't really know exactly what model it is, but I know it was a Mojave from '05 and i payed around 280$ for it. I was looking to buy a new fork for it, but have no clue where to start. I would like something with quite a lot of travel, and im not looking to spend more than say 250$. or would you recommend me buying something(s) to make my bike better.

For that Pricepoint I would recommend Marzocchi's MX Pro ETA. It is a best value!

on the marzocchi website it says cross country. but would i still be able to take some relivaly high jump say 5 feet tops? when it says cross country i think of long distances with very small and not very many bumps. The reviews don't give much as to what kind of riding they did. I really want a fork i can have a lot of fun on, and i can go over some bumps and some alright drops, without worrying about my fork.

just checking again if anybody know of a good fork that would fit my '05 raliegh mojave and cost less than 250$ but still allow me to go off of fairly high drops (5 feet) and hold up going over pretty big depressions and stumps

im not familiar with bikes like raleigh, so id need to know the headtube size. the standard performance bike headtube is 1 1/8", but a raleigh might be smaller, which then the only way to really go is a new bike. find out what size it is. if ur friends have more expensive bikes from bikeshops then you could just compare. get back to me with the size and then we'll talk. also, $250 is realitively low, but i might be able to find u something that will hold up.

I know some forks that would be perfect!:p The Manitou Stance Flow forks are only about $250, and they have 120-150mm travel (adjustable), which is definitely enough travel to take the hit of a 5 footer.

I'm also thinking of gettin' a pair of these forks to upgrade the Splice on the Garyfisher Mullet I will hopefully have next week!(:eek:)

Get a Kingpin. Throw it on your bike, and replace whatever breaks.

just make sure theyll fit before u buy them, it always sucks when u buy something but its not what u want, even worse when u cant get ur money back

those forks look really nice, but would I be able to use that fork just on trails. Like, would I be able to do non-freeriding stuff with that fork and still do fine? Would this fork do just fine on trails and bumps + the drops, or should I look at a different type of fork. I guess im asking really what kind of riding I do, im just not really clear on that?

Any of the forks listed above will be fine.

any other things you would recommend me getting after the fork, preferably under 100$?
