Clipless shoe reccomendation

Can anybody reccomend a good clipless shoe that isnt too pricey. I would like one that will allow me to walk out of the woods without too many probs if need be.

Also, I was checking a website and the shoe sizing was something I had never seen before. I wear a 9.5 shoe. Can you translate that to the sizing used for clipless shoes please. Thanks

661 has some reasonably priced offerings that may interest you.

Most manufacturers have a conversion table on their website. If not, there's always Google.

I will add that if you are looking at 661 shoes, I have found that they run pretty true to size.

Personally, I would go local shops and buy a shoe there. Nothing worse then ordering a shoe online and it not fitting. I think it's worth the extra $$ to buy at the lbs and know it feels good.

Yeah. I spent so much on my bike though that Im trying to save $$$ whereever I can.

Thanks guys

I agree with MattP. It's good to try them on prior to purchase. If you can't and are unsure about sizing, you could order a few pairs, keep the ones that fit and return the others. But that would likely cost more money with the shipping charges.

I like my NIKE Kato shoes. No problems with them after 6 months of riding. They cost about $90 at my lbs.

As far as walking out of the woods... bring a tube, pump, and a powerlink and you can just ride out of the woods 99.999% of the time. The other 0.001% you are screwed.

I'm not concerned about flats as much as Im concerned about the rear derailer. I read reviews on the rear derailer on my cannondale caffeine 3 and everybody seemed to love the smooth action of it, but a few people reported that a little tap made it bend into the spokes. So Im a little concerned about that but so long as I have some decent shoes I think Ill be just fine.

How about that? (The shoes are availiable separately for $53)

I posted the combo because I'm considering it myself. Any thoughts?
