Mongoose or Ironhorse?

What would you rather have? I found them at similar prices. Which is better? or are they both the same?

Thanks.

essentially Mongoose Otero versus the Ironhorse Maverick, dual suspensions

they are similarly priced

I would say the Iron Horse.

If I had to choose.... the Iron Horse because the one you linked to is a hardtail. Good full suspension rigs START @ $1000
It looks like you know quite a bit on the electronics / lighting front, (from your past posts) but not so much on the actual bikes.
Basically what you're looking at here are Garrity "Life Lights".

Please look at our FAQ

definatley the ironhorse, you are going to get much more out of a hardtail at the price range you are looking at.

but thats just my oppinion

Ironhorse...but what's up with that crankset? I'm looking for a hardtail, not too expensive, and that seems a good choice. Ironhorse have strong frames (and heavy) and give you decent components for a reasonable price.

zoomed in...Truvativ crankset...nevermind.

too much alivio on the IH with 8 speed cassette..which I like to have the most range in gear shifting since I like to go on road often, even with my SGS. It's better to get the hardtail. Most good hardtails can handle xc just fine, no need for a rear shock. Adding the extra rear susp linkage and shocks should raise the price significantly..if it doesn't there have been major cutbacks. ..just my limited experience and knowledge. 3 chainwheels up front (can be dropped to 2 with a DRS guide if needed for more demanding off road fun, and the 9 speed in the rear...go with the the hardtail IH.

has any1 bought from performancebike yet? are they reliable?

bspurrie 08-18-07 10:11 AM

My friend bought an Iron Horse Triathlon bike from perfromance. If there is anything wrong with your order they will tell you to talk to Ironhorse. His cam missing some bolts and they really hasseled him about it. Just one experience though.
