New, question on this bike

Hi everyone, I am new to MTB but have ridden many bike since I was very young. I have a chance of picking up a 2006 Mongoose Tyax Elite for $200 brand new, what do you guys think?

I have read around here that no one really likes the mongoose but 200 for a brand new one i don't think it's bad. I probably will do a couple of trails but nothing serious.

any opinions? thanks in advance.

*edit* here is some info on it: https://www.mongoose.com/mtn/ProductDetails.html?id=2297&enc=mtn|

Eh...if $200 is all you got, it'll work.

Just don't come back in one week and talk about putting $200 worth of upgrades on it.

ie; $400 spent up front will get you a much better bike.

it really is all i got, but I will not be upgrading. I will buy a couple of accessories and that's it. that is why I was asking if it's a good bike for 200 bux.

My opinion is at least it isn't a $200 full suspension.
