Bike rack help
hey, my step dad is cleaning up his work shop (wood) and i want to try and see if he'll let me build a bike rack. i was just wondering if anyone can help me with plans to fit an 8" disc, but still keep it small. pros and cons would be nice too. thanks

clarification on what type of bike rack would help. Free standing, gravity (against a wall), etc. Just search 'bike racks' on google or something and transfer a plan to wood.

Not sure if you are talking rack as in storage rack or as in repair stand. Both are easy to build. If it's a storage rack, you can knock together a single-bike one quickly out of scrap lumber:
A multi-bike rack is similar, just make it all out of 2x6swith a series of wheel wells spaced a foot or so apart.
If it's a repair stand, I made mine out of a woodworker's Pony clamp and used Trex (or similar synthetic lumber) for the non-marring jaws:

Ask for one for Christmas. Mine works fine but is not nearly as slick and convenient as a boughten one. I recommend the Ultimate Pro.
