Issues with xt Dual Control discs

Im running last years dual control disc brakes and they are feeling pretty mushy. Wondering whether anyone else has had similar issues and a fix.

thx

Check your disc pads for wear? I am on my second pair of XTR metal pads since replacing them end of last year. They recommend down to 0.5mm but if they are close I change them and be prepared for quick stopping if that is the issue.

The stock pads wore pretty fast on mine.

They sound like they also need to be bled.

The thing is that the bike is new (less then a hundred miles) bought it on closeout from trek. I was thinking that the pads haven't worn in yet. Having to bleed the breaks is a little extreme for such a new bike.
