Type of Pedals for my type of riding?

well... I usualy ride about 75% XC and 25% mild freeride (5 foot drops max and some fairly small dirt jumps)

so far I have been using platform pedals, and am wondering if I should switch to clip-ins for increased XC performance... but will it affect my mild freeriding a lot?

I'm a proponent of clipless, but only ride XC. I can't comment on how it will affect your freeride, but I would recommend them for the XC stuff.

i guess wut im trying to say is... is it still possible to do some freeriding with clip-in shoes?

time atac z's are good freeride clipless pedals, and of course they will also work for xc

I jump all the time with my clipless SPDs. I've hit a few big drops but thus far none sucessfully:rolleyes:
Look into a pedal with a big platform around the clip component that way you can unclip and still have some pedal to push on if you feel you need to unclip.
I'm looking into the Crank Brothers mallet or similar so I dont have to be clipped in when I hit some bigger jumps and what not...
