Soma groove?

I'm thinking about getting a soma groove frame, its probably going to replace my trek 8000, which just shakes me up on rooty singletrack. What do you guys (and gals) think about this frame? I was looking at the geometry, it seems a little short. My trek has a 24.5 inch top tube, the soma's largest size has a 23.8''. I know thats not much but still.

whats the biggest tire you can run? I'm addicted to my nobby nics, and I'd love to run 2.4s front and rear, but if I have to I'll run a 2.25 in the back like I'm doing now.

about how much does the frame weigh?

Is the handling on the slower side or the quick side?

any other random opinions and suggestions for cheapish frames that aren't too heavy and have disc tabs?
