My Bike Got Stolen!!!
There's pics of in my previous post (I'll link it later). I live in Anchorage, Alaska (Service HS area for those who know), and I was at my friends house at 7PM. I left my bike propped up in front of his garage because that's where I usually leave it and it's a nice neighborhood. It's a 2008 Gary Fisher Tassajara (black/ white stripes; has a cyclometer on it). I went outside to leave his house at 9, and it wasn't there. His sister got home at 8 and she said she saw the bike outside. My friend drove me around the area to see if someone had ditched it, but we didn't find anything. I just got done filing a police report. Hopefully the person is dumb enough to try and pawn it so the shop can track it.
Just asking you guys who live in Anchorage to keep an eye out for a GF Tassajara. Oh, and if you're bike's been stolen before, did you ever get it back and how?
Thanks

This may not help you NOW, but...
It helps to register your bike with your local police department. All you need is make, model and serial number and that can help track it down if the police catches the thief. Of course, that depends on if they catch the guy before your bike hits a chop shop.

Still kicking.
Bike Thieves are the scumbags of the world. They deserve to get smacked down.
I hope you find your bike.

Get out there and let all of your local shops know that it was stolen. I would also file a police report, even if the cops will not likely recover it. If you do track it down later, it can help to have them already informed.
Keep an eye on the local Craig's List. Good luck, having a bike stolen sucks.

Oh man... sorry to hear about your loss. Same thing happened to me this spring. I had my bike outside unlocked for like 10 minutes and it was gone. Anyways, good job filing the police report. Make a flyer with your bikes desciption and hand it to all the local bike shops. And last but not least, check our the pawn shops. I found my bike at a pawn shop like three weeks after it got stolen, so there's hope for you yet! Hope you get your ride back!

Yup. Sucks getting a bike stolen. My Roast got janked out of my garage this summer, along with my fixed gear conversion. House insurance bought me two new bikes, but still...it sucks. Learn your lesson, lock your bike up whever you are...or better yet, ride a beater if your gonna be leaving your bike outta your sight.
I miss my bikes.
