nomad or 6.6?

I'm gonna be building a new bike, and want 6 inches of travel. I was originally going to go with the nomad, but my lbs just picked up intense and can get me the frame at close to cost. Does anyone here have experience with either of these, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks...

How much is close to cost? $2K? They're both VPP frames, so I can't imagine either one being much better than the other.

It'll just come down to which frame YOU like more, even if it's just a shape and color preference. Clearly, neither product wins in any bang-for-the-buck contest considering the insanely low prices of Giant Trance and Reign frames.

Yes, they are made in Santa Cruz, China......
The Nomad is a great bike and so is the 6.6. I rode both before buying. Personally the Nomad fit me better than the 6.6. Try both before committing to that kind of money. I ended up with a Enduro SL and there is some times that I wish that I would of bought the Nomad, but instead I bought my daughter a bike with the difference.

I have found that my broken down body doesn't always fit all bikes equally and thats I how I make my finally choice in what I ride. I will also state that it is not unusual that I change my mind 6 months or so into it due to the constant learning curve and better understanding what my body should be doing. I still would say that Santa Cruz does make a very clean looking bike.
Opinions are like as*holes (everyone has one and generally they are full of sh*t) and there is mine...

That's a hell of an answer! If I'm gonna drop $3000+ on a bike, I'm gonna get the exact one I want, regardless of waiting time.

I don't exactly find waiting 3 months for a frame acceptable.

You're aware that no one makes hydro road brakes.

I had a chance to ride both on my local trails(Bootleg Canyon, NV) during Interbike. Honestly, I couldn't tell any difference other than forks. IMO, you can't go wrong with either one. Buy the one you can get the best deal on.

guru geneo. probably record or record/chorus mix. but definitely campagnolo. i was considering the cycleops powertap (newer model with carbon insert hubs). but i think this severely limits wheel choices. i don't se how i would be able to use i9s. i want to see what the i9s will weigh. the whole bike should be between 15 to 16 pounds

I think you need something like this 13lb. Storck, but a little smaller(this one's almost as tall as you are).

BTW, Magura used to make hydraulic road caliper brakes(not just the MTB style).

And that means what towards the non-ignorant quality of the frame?

As with my answers to all bike vs bike questions. It depends on fit and feel. If both server the purpose and both fit the budget, it has to be 100% comfortable. Simple formula that to many people make too complicated by throwing in things like "country of origin"

If it's a frame I am dead set on, I'll wait 3 months.

I think that Storck is about $8-10K, the one I saw in RBA magazine was around $18K at under 10 lbs.(yes, whole bike minus pedals).
MX, anything with Campy Record/Chorus bits will set you back some. I see why you want a Ventana, but can't afford it now.....where's your priorities, man?!
