Got about $200 to spend
I have a friend who has about $200 to spend on a new bike. We don't have any shops in town that really deal in use bikes. Only pawn shops, and they charge too much to begin with. I was wondering if anyone can point me in a direction to det a hold of a decent starter mountain bike. It will be used everyday, so semi good componentry is a must. Price is also a factor, This friend of mine is still in HS and doesn't work, so he relies on the generosity of others for right now. Any feedback is helpful.

I need to sell this frame and have a bunch of parts around. Steel gary fisher wahoo (think its a 1999). I can put an xt derailleur on the back and I will buy new wheels (maybe not both but I know one of them is bent pretty bad), new front derailleur/brakes/shifters/ and whatever else to make it work. I can build the bike and sell it for 200. Is he looking to buy a bike really soon? Let me know and i'll get started.

sure I'll let him know. I know he was looking for a front suspension model, but that can be upgraded at a later date. BTW is it a threade or threadless?
