DHO: Judy DHO to be exact - - Pre-Boxxer; crowns, stanchions and lowers very similar to the Judy XLC but with a thru-axle and better damping circuits.

Stop it, DBD. Those aren't bikes; they're boutique metal sculpture masquerading as bikes.

That may be the case but after the first of the year I will start to build one of those frames up and then hang it above the mantle in a lexan case. ;)

BFG 11-23-07 08:43 PM

Banshee Legend or whatever theyre gettiong called over in the States - apparently were getting a differnt name for them here.
Boxxer WC.
DXH 5.0.
203mm Codes.
Yellow DeeMax's.
Minion's to go on them.
Saint Cranks.
Shimano DX Clipless.
XTR Carbon Shadow up the back.
Gamut guide of some sorts.
Funn Stem and bar combo.
Et al.

So Smashy, we know you well enough now.
When's the DH bike coming? You cant hide it behind this "Just for fun" faux pas for much longer :p .

scrublover 11-24-07 03:33 AM

A racer or a hucker?

Turner DHR, Pushed DHX with a ti coil, reducer cups, any decent sealed headset.

Boxxer XC & E-13 Ali integrated stem, Answer Protaper low rise bar, some sort of lock on grip.

Thomson Masterpiece post (cut it down) Selle Ialia SLR seat, Salsa seat clamp.

Avid Code brakes, 203mm front, 185mm rear.

SRAM X.0 shifters, and derailleurs. Fully sealed cable/housing runs. 11-23 Dura Ace cassette.

Shimano XT cranks, 38T ring, E-13 LG-1 guide with taco. M-647 pedals.

Hadley hubs laced to Mavic EX729 rims. Tires/tubes or tubeless course or trail depending.

Nice and straightforward. Nothing too exotic that you couldn't (hopefully) find parts for somewhere off at a race, most likely. Easy to take care of stuff, easy to find spare part stuff. Substitute some lower end versions of brake/drivetrain stuff if needed for budgetary reasons.

Go for the Totem or 66 ATA /1.5" front end and some X.7 or X.9 rather than X.0 goodies, 32T front ring/bashguard, and an 11-34 cassette if it's being built up to see more trail than race time.

Dannihilator 11-24-07 05:12 PM

Scrublover is closest so far, followed by dminor, then dbd, then Pete.

Closest? To how you would spec it?

Close to what I'm thinking for my next build.

Intense Uzzi VPX
Marzocchi 66 ATA
Fox DHX 5.0
Avid Codes (203)
Chris King 1.5
X.0 Drivetrain
XT Cranks (single ring)
E.13 SRS
Hadleys laced to Atomlab Pimps
Easton Monkeylite DH bar
Thomson stem/seatpost
2.5 Nevegals

BFG 11-26-07 06:34 AM

I change to a Corsair Maelstrom with a Cane Creek Double Barrel shock.
Fox 40s.
Still say DeeMax's.
Easton Carbon Bars.
Codes, 203mm each end.
XTR Carbon Shadow w/XTR shifters.
11-23 Dura Ace Cassette.
Saint cranks and bottom bracket.
DX Clipless.
FSA Pig Pro Headset.
White direct-mount stem of some sort.
ODI Oury Lock On Grips.
Fluro Speckled cable Housing.
Alligator rotors.
SDG Belair I-Fly or whatever it is on a post of some sorts.
Minions.

Now how am i in the running Smashy?

dminor 11-26-07 10:59 AM

I'd ditch the 11-23 cassettes on scrub's and BFG's builds and still go with an 11-34 or 11-32 so you can block out the big cog for insurance and still have a good gear range.
