Buying new bike - Motobecane Fantom Team or Trek Fuel EX 8??
Anyone have experience with both of these bikes and can offer any kind of comparison. I'm also interested in the Moto Fly Team if you have any input there. Too many great bikes out there anymore!!

I am a 2 time bikes direct buyer and I will always recommend them. Just a lot more bike for the price.
However, you WILL NEVER go wrong with a big name bike at a solid LBS. There is much benefit there. But figuring out sizing and putting the bike together on your own, etc is no even close to hard. Buying online can be a great option to save money IF you are the right type of person (do not need or even want hand holding, you research things beyond what the typical salesperson is going to do, you like being different, etc)
I have the Fly 9357 (or whatever the silly combination of numbers is) and it is a great bike. I have little in the way of MTB experience to say it is better than X or Y. I have a Mercier Road bike from them as well and I will tell you that it is a much better bike than anything I see locally at 1.5x+ the cost.

I have a Moto 600HT that I've spent over 500 upgrading. I purchased a Specialized rockhopper for my wife two years ago. Everytime I get on her RH, it is just a better bike. I compair to a mustang vs a BMW. I'd go with the Trek if this is your choice.
