racing tires
i need a superlight tire that's still got good grip. at least 2.1 in. 400g and under. any suggestions? (price is not a problem)
|
MaxxLite 310. Trust Geoff Kabush.
|
have you used them before? i would think they would not grip/corner very well.
|
I was being somewhat facetious, given my unbridled boosterism for all things Maxxis. I have not ever run them; but they are definitely light. Personally I would favor the High Roller but at 480g they don't fall under your 400g threshold.

You're not going to find anything under 400 that corners well, end of story. You're asking for an impossible tire.
You do have a couple options in the <450 range though. The new Furius Fred in a 2.25 (more like a real world 2.1) comes in around 420. The racing ralph comes in at 460 or so I believe. The continental explorer supersonic 2.1 is around 450 and is great for dry areas. Stans TheCrow is around 400 as well. |
I have some ritchey zmax evolutions.. not sure on the weight maybe over 400, but they are narrow 2.1 tires.. they wear quick, but you can lean the bike on them. they would be good for racing, I didn't like them for general use as they were a little narrow.

well, i think im gonna get some nobby nicks, at least for the winter. ill probably switch to racing ralphs for the dry season.
